.....In the Spring of 1994, I received The Geraldine R Dodge Foundation Artist/Educator grant. It lead me to the Brazilian state of Amazonia with a group of botanists from the New York Botanical Gardens. Floating along the waters, I learned of the life style of the Caboclo people and gained a real appreciation and understanding for the balance of nature and the symbiotic relationship between plants, animals and human beings. This expedition was led by Dr Scott Mori and his wife, Carol Gracie.
